Academic English 1 (AE 1)

This four week course is an introduction to academic learning for students at upper elementary/lower intermediate level and provides preparation for AE 2.

AE1 focuese on basic academic English skills, especially writing.

Course content includes:

  • Dictionary skills
  • Vocabulary development
  • Academic reading
  • Essay writing
  • Note-taking and summarizing
  • Research skills
  • Comparing data

Entry requirements: Successful completion of the college placement test at Lower Intermediate level. 
Course duration: 4 weeks 
Hours per week: 22.5 hours/week face to face teaching + 4 hours optional Guided Independent Learning
